Mahindra Thar RWD gets a price Update: Details Inside

In January 2023, Mahindra introduced the Thar lifestyle SUV with rear-wheel drive in India. This model was released in three variants: AX Diesel, LX Diesel, and LX Petrol, with prices ranging between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 13.49 lakh. These were initial discounts available exclusively to the first 10,000 clients.

Mahindra has raised the price of the LX diesel manual by Rs 50,000. This model currently costs Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It was first offered at a price of Rs 10.99 lakh. The basic diesel AX (O) and LX petrol AT pricing remain unchanged. This type is only available in hardtop form.

The Mahindra Thar RWD now comes in two additional colors: Alpine White and Blazing Bronze. The Thar RWD costs roughly Rs 4 lakh less than the 4 variant.

Mahindra Thar RWD Engine:

The Mahindra Thar RWD is powered by a 1.5L turbo diesel engine rather than the 2.2L engine found in the 4X4 variant. The smaller capacity diesel engine allows the Thar RWD to qualify for Tax incentives on cars under 4 metres long. The 1500cc diesel engine develops 117bhp and 300Nm of torque when coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The turbo petrol RWD model is only available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine generates 150PS and 320Nm of torque. The Thar RWD comes with powered ORVMs, a touchscreen infotainment device, cruise control, an electronic stability programme, and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres.
