Mercedes-Benz AMG E 53 4MATIC+ launched in India

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the AMG E 53 Cabriolet 4MATIC+ in India for INR 1.3 crore ex-showroom. The new cabriolet will be manufactured in Bremen, Germany, and will be sent to India via the CBU route.

Interestingly, the new E53 cabriolet is the first AMG soft top product to be presented in India. Previously, the E400 was the cabriolet version of the E class. With the addition of the new performance model, the German luxury brand now provides eleven AMG vehicles in India, three of which are locally made.

Mercedes-Benz India's MD and CEO, Santosh Iyer, stated that the performance model's demand remains robust as the market increases.

The car has 435bhp and 520Nm of torque transmitted to all four wheels thanks to a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbocharged mild-hybrid petrol engine linked to an AMG Speedshift 9G gearbox. Furthermore, the EQ boost starter-alternator can create 16 kW and 250 Nm of torque for a limited period of time.

According to the business, the cabriolet can accelerate from zero to 100kmph in 4.5 seconds and has an electronically regulated peak speed of 250kmph. The vehicle's driving aptitude is improved with Dynamic Select driving modes and AMG's Ride Control+ air suspension.

The car, which is based on the regular wheelbase E-Class, has the AMG characteristic Pan-Americana grille at the front, as well as the AMG emblem and power bulge on the bonnet. The soft top is outfitted with 19-inch AMG alloy wheels as standard, with a 20-inch option available, and a quad exhaust arrangement with a lip spoiler on the trunk.

The infotainment system and instrument cluster are both shown on 12.3-inch displays within the car. A flat-bottom Nappa leather-wrapped AMG steering wheel, aluminium pedals, wireless phone charger, 19-speaker Burmester sound system, ambient lighting, and an AIRSCARF with wind deflector at the front and rear keep the front occupants' necks warm are all included.

The car is available in six paint shade options, four rooftop colours, and three inside colours, and may be further customised with the disigno package.
