Nissan Motor India has recently appointed Gagan Mangal as its Head of Communications with effect from January 12, 2026. Based out of Gurugram, Mangal steps into this key role as the Japanese automaker ramps up its efforts to reclaim market share in India's fiercely competitive automotive landscape. His appointment signals Nissan's commitment to sharper storytelling and stakeholder engagement at a time when upcoming product launches demand strong visibility.
With over 17 years in the automotive industry, Mangal brings some of the best expert experience from working with Volkswagen India and Hyundai Motor India. He will report directly to Katherine Zachary, Vice President of International Communications, while collaborating closely with Saurabh Vatsa, Nissan's Managing Director for India. This move comes just weeks after Mangal wrapped up a 14-year journey at Volkswagen, where he shaped narratives around iconic models and major transitions.
