Why Ola S1 and S1 Pro get a Price Hike of Rs. 15,000?

As the deadline for the reduction in FAME-II subsidy approaches, electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are taking necessary steps to adjust their product prices. In line with this trend, Bengaluru-based startup Ola Electric has recently revised the prices of their S1 and S1 Pro models, while the prices for the entry-level S1 Air have not yet been altered.

Previously, the 3kWh variant of the S1 model was priced at Rs 1.15 lakh. However, in response to the subsidy revision, the price for this variant has been increased by Rs 15,000, resulting in a new price of Rs 1.30 lakh. Similarly, the range-topping S1 Pro model now carries a price tag of Rs 1.40 lakh, reflecting a price hike of Rs 15,000 for Ola's flagship e-scooter.

On the other hand, the entry-level S1 Air model is available in three variants, each equipped with a different battery capacity: 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh. These variants claim IDC ranges of 85km, 125km, and 165km, respectively. Importantly, the prices for these specific variants have remained unchanged at Rs 84,999, Rs 99,999, and Rs 1.10 lakh, respectively.

The reason behind the price hike lies in the imminent reduction of the FAME-II subsidy. EV manufacturers, including Ola Electric, are adapting to this change by adjusting their pricing strategies accordingly. Despite the price revision, the entry-level S1 Air variants have not been affected, ensuring continued accessibility for customers seeking more affordable options within Ola Electric's product range.
