Paul Walker's Nissan Skyline GT-R, driven in the fourth installment of the "Fast & Furious" film franchise has been listed by GT-A International. will be displayed at the Motorworld Munich before being auctioned off at the end of the year.
The "Fast & Furious" film series has no shortage of fast cars, but one car that fans instantly recognize is the Nissan Skyline GT-R driven by the late Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner. But the actor's passion for cars extended far beyond the screen, as he was also a big fan of fast cars in real life. One of his favorites is the aforementioned Nissan beast, one of which is currently up for auction.
The vehicle in question is quite unusual. The Nissan R34 GT-R will not be road legal in the United States until 2024. This machine, which is usually considered a forbidden fruit in Japan, has 276 bhp, but when it comes to legality, it has nothing to do with any safety concerns or performance limitations. Instead, federal law only states that the vehicles are ineligible for import until they have served their 25-year product life.
There are some exceptions, such as bringing these machines into the country on an exhibition license. Motorex has been the sole source of Nissan beauty in the United States thus far, but the Department of Transportation revoked its importer license in 2006 due to irregularities, according to Driving Line. However, as the 25-year honorary period for product life maturation nears its end, every Nissan Skyline R34 will become a hot commodity in the United States in the coming months.
The original blue Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, which is said to have been driven by Walker in the fourth installment of the "Fast & Furious" film franchise, has been listed by GT-A International. The vehicle is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. The car has around 3,700 miles on it and comes with a Nismo NE-1 exhaust and V-spec NUR pedals. There's also a Turbonetics front-mount intercooler under the hood, and Nismo lowering springs and side skirts round out the modifications.
According to the company, the original Universal Pictures Rental Contract Copy will be provided as proof of authenticity for the vehicle, along with a valid Florida title to certify ownership for the highest bidder. According to CarScoops, GT-A will display the iconic movie car at Motorworld Munich before auctioning it off at the end of the year. It's difficult to predict how much the car will fetch, but if Paul Walker's 2001 Motorex Nissan R34 GT-R V-Spec II fetched $500,000+ at Mecum just over three weeks ago is any indication, a similar hammer price doesn't seem too far-fetched.
Because the car in question was driven around by none other than Paul Walker himself in a cinematic juggernaut franchise, its value immediately skyrockets. To give you an idea, the orange 1994 Toyota Supra used in the first "Fast & Furious" film fetched a whopping $550,000 at a Barrett-Jackson auction last year. With all of the history behind it, the Nissan ride is bound to exceed expectations.
