French automaker Peugeot is set to enter India's two-wheeler market with the Django 125 scooter, featuring a 125cc motor and expected to debut in 2023.

Peugeot to enter Indian two-wheeler market with Django 125 scooter

French automobile manufacturer Peugeot is gearing up to enter the Indian two-wheeler market with the globally-renowned Django 125. The scooter has been spied testing in India once again, this time sporting a few new changes. Notably, it features a small flyscreen, larger grabrail, and a revised exhaust shield.

While international models are powered by a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine generating 10.46bhp and 9.3Nm, details of the Indian-spec model remain scarce. It is expected to feature telescopic forks, a single rear shock, 12-inch alloy wheels, and a combination of LED lighting and a TFT screen.

The Peugeot Django 125 will compete against rivals such as the Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Honda Activa 125. Peugeot, owned by Mahindra, is expected to launch in India this year or early 2024 with pricing under Rs 1 lakh to remain competitive in the market.
