"Get ready for the launch of Tata Motors' Altroz iCNG - the eco-friendly and spacious hatchback with twin-cylinder CNG technology."

Tata Altroz CNG: How Will It Fare Against Competitors Baleno sCNG and Glanza CNG?

Tata Motors, the popular Indian automobile manufacturer, is all set to launch the highly-anticipated Altroz iCNG hatchback later this week. This latest offering from Tata Motors will be the CNG version of its successful Altroz premium hatchback, which garnered rave reviews upon its initial launch. The Altroz iCNG model, which was previously showcased at the Auto Expo held earlier this year, will be officially launched on Wednesday, April 19.

Tata Motors has been actively expanding its CNG lineup, and the Altroz iCNG will be the carmaker's third CNG model after the Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG. Moreover, the carmaker is also planning to launch the CNG version of its smallest SUV, the Punch, in the near future.

Visually, the Altroz iCNG hatchback is not significantly different from the standard version of the premium hatchback that is currently available in India. However, the Altroz iCNG will be available in the top variants, and it will boast all the features offered in its standard avatar. The iCNG badging on the car will be the noticeable change to differentiate it from its ICE avatars.

Under the hood, the Altroz iCNG is expected to come with a factory-fitted CNG kit, which will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine found in the standard model. This engine is capable of generating a peak power of 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. The Altroz iCNG is expected to deliver an impressive fuel efficiency of around 20-23 km/kg, making it an attractive option for buyers looking for a fuel-efficient and eco-friendly vehicle.

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Altroz iCNG, the CNG version of its premium hatchback. The biggest differentiator between the Altroz iCNG and other Tata CNG cars is the reworked position of the CNG kit, which makes room for more luggage in the boot space.

Tata Motors has removed the spare wheel to accommodate two smaller CNG tanks, a new twin-cylinder CNG technology that will debut with the Altroz iCNG. This technology allows more space at the rear, a feature that will also be seen in the upcoming CNG version of the Punch SUV.

The earlier CNG models like Tiago and Tigor had conventional CNG cylinders that were placed inside the boot space, eating into the luggage compartment. In contrast, the Altroz iCNG will have the CNG kit placed lower and on a flatter surface. This new technology is expected to be a game-changer in the Indian automobile market, where car buyers are always on the lookout for more space in their vehicles.

The Altroz iCNG will be offered with the same 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the Tiago and Tigor CNG versions. The engine, when paired with a manual gearbox, will be able to generate 73 bhp and 95 Nm of torque in the iCNG mode. The engine, without a CNG kit, is capable of generating 84.82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The Altroz iCNG is likely to be priced around Rs. 75,000 above the standard variant of the hatchback.

When launched, the Altroz iCNG will take on rivals such as the Baleno sCNG and Glanza CNG models in the market. The new twin-cylinder CNG technology and the reworked position of the CNG kit make the Altroz iCNG an attractive option for buyers who are looking for a fuel-efficient and eco-friendly vehicle with more luggage space. The launch of the Altroz iCNG is sure to create a buzz in the Indian automobile market, and it will be interesting to see how it performs against its rivals.
