Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for the Baleno RS due to a defective brake part. The recall affects over 7,000 units of the model manufactured between 2016 and 2019.

Baleno RS braking malfunction leads to Maruti Suzuki Recall

Maruti Suzuki, India's premier car manufacturer, has recently made a significant announcement regarding the Baleno RS. The company has issued a recall of 7,213 units of the car, which were manufactured between October 27, 2016, and November 1, 2019. This recall has been issued due to a potential defect in the vacuum pump that helps with the car's braking mechanism.

The vacuum pump plays a critical role in providing the necessary assistance to the car's braking system. A malfunction in this component could lead to decreased braking efficiency and could potentially lead to a safety hazard.

Maruti Suzuki has taken swift action to address this issue by announcing that its authorized workshops will be contacting the affected vehicle owners and replacing the defective parts free of cost. This move demonstrates the company's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its customers.

As one of the most popular hatchbacks in India, the Baleno RS has won over the hearts of many car enthusiasts with its impressive performance and handling. With this recall, Maruti Suzuki is taking the necessary steps to ensure that the Baleno RS continues to deliver an unparalleled driving experience while maintaining the highest levels of safety and reliability.

Maruti Suzuki and Baleno RS engine, price

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS was a hatchback that took the Indian auto market by storm. The RS variant of the Baleno was the sportier version, equipped with features to enhance its performance and handling.

One of the most significant updates in the Baleno RS was the addition of disc brakes on all wheels, which greatly improved the car's stopping power. The car's suspension setup was also tweaked to make it 10% stiffer, resulting in better handling and cornering.

Under the hood, the Baleno RS was powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that churned out an impressive 102 horsepower and 150 Newton-metres of torque. The engine was paired with a smooth 5-speed manual gearbox that ensured an engaging and enjoyable driving experience.

Priced at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom), the Baleno RS offered an excellent value proposition for car enthusiasts who were looking for a fun-to-drive car without breaking the bank. However, the Baleno RS was produced only until 2020, which made it a rare and desirable car in the used car market.

But, as with any used car, it is crucial to inspect the vehicle thoroughly before making a purchase. In the case of the Baleno RS, it is essential to check if the brake part has been replaced, as faulty brakes can be a safety hazard. With its impressive performance, excellent handling, and attractive price tag, the Baleno RS continues to be a popular choice for used car buyers in India.

Maruti Suzuki recalls

Maruti Suzuki India has recently issued yet another recall, which comes after the one in January 2023 that affected over 17,000 vehicles due to a faulty airbag controller. The current recall pertains to the Baleno RS, along with several other models, and is due to a potential defect in the vacuum pump that assists braking. The recall affects 7,213 units of the Baleno RS manufactured between October 27, 2016, and November 1, 2019.

This is not the only instance of Maruti Suzuki recalling its vehicles to address potential safety hazards. In December, the company had issued another recall, this time affecting 11,177 units of the Grand Vitara SUV manufactured between August 8 and November 15, 2022. The recall was initiated due to a possible defect in the rear seatbelt mounting brackets, which could potentially compromise the safety of the passengers.

In addition to this, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder was also recalled for the same reason. This recall underscores the importance that Maruti Suzuki places on the safety of its customers and its willingness to take proactive steps to address any potential issues.

With the auto industry's increasing focus on safety, recalls have become a common occurrence. However, what sets Maruti Suzuki apart is its commitment to ensuring the well-being of its customers by addressing any issues that may arise in a timely and efficient manner. The company's prompt response and willingness to take responsibility are a testament to its dedication to providing the highest level of quality and safety to its customers.
