Citroen is set to launch a new SUV in India by the end of this year as part of its C-Cubed Program. The upcoming model, which is expected to be called Citroen C3 Aircross, will be based on the C3 hatchback and is likely to come in both 5 and 7-seater versions.

The 5-seater version will compete against popular models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Toyota Hyryder in terms of seating capacity and market positioning. Meanwhile, the 7-seater version will compete against Kia Carens and Maruti XL6. Pricing details for the new Citroen SUVs are yet to be announced.

The upcoming 5-seater Citroen SUV is expected to be approximately 4.3 meters long, which puts it in the same size range as the Hyundai Creta. It is likely to showcase the brand's recognizable styling elements such as a prominent grille, distinct fenders, and split LED headlights with daytime running lights. Many of its design elements are expected to resemble those of the C3 hatchback, including the flared wheel arches and rectangular-shaped taillights.

The interior of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV is expected to share many similarities with the C3 hatchback. However, it may feature a new dashboard design and several additional features. Some of the anticipated features include a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument console, a 4-speaker audio system, remote locking, steering-mounted controls, speed-sensitive auto door lock, roof rails, front power windows with one-touch down for the driver, air conditioning, and dual airbags for enhanced safety.

The engine specifications of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV are expected to include a 1.2-litre turbocharged, 3-cylinder petrol engine with a maximum power output of 110bhp and peak torque of 190Nm. The 7-seater variant of the SUV may also use the same engine, but with a slightly higher power output. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox, with the latter possibly being offered in the higher variants.
