Ferrari & its new CEO, Benedetto Vigna reiterates that Ferrari’s first EV will retain its DNA while innovating.

Ferrari's new CEO, Benedetto Vigna, has announced that the renowned Maranello-based stable's first electric car would be one-of-a-kind. The first Ferrari EV will be available in 2025, as announced by the automaker last year.

Indeed, Vigna, a former senior VP at STMicroelectronics, was recruited as Ferrari's CEO owing to his competence in the technology business, having designed the 3-axis gyroscope used in most current smartphones.

"It's one-of-a-kind, a real Ferrari," Vigna told Top Gear Magazine. He has previously stated that Ferrari was working hard to maintain the driving characteristics that its cars were famed for, despite the considerable weight increase caused by batteries.

According to reports, Ferrari, like the Rimac Nevera, is working on a quad-motor arrangement with a small battery pack beneath the passenger compartment and another behind the passenger for improved weight distribution.

Already, Ferrari has received praise for its hybrid vehicles, such as the 296 GTB, which has a large battery pack and a number of electric motors combined with a V6 turbo engine.
