Get a sneak peek at the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV with leaked images showcasing its front and back designs.

The new Hyundai Exter SUV is geared towards younger Gen Z car buyers and is set to officially launch during the upcoming festive season. Recently, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) unveiled a design render of the Exter SUV, but now, the first fully undisguised images of the small SUV have leaked online.
This compact SUV is positioned between the Grand i10 Nios and Venue in the company lineup and will compete against the Tata Punch and recently launched Maruti Suzuki Fronx in its segment.
The 5-seater Hyundai Exter SUV incorporates elements of Parametric Dynamism, a blend of Hyundai's SUV DNA, and the Global Design Identity of Sensuous Sportiness design language. The sub-4-metre SUV features a boxy stance and is smaller compared to the Hyundai Venue. It boasts a parametric front grille similar to that seen on the Venue.

The front and rear designs of the Hyundai Exter have recently leaked, revealing that depending on the chosen trim level, the SUV's exterior features will include a split headlamp unit, LED daytime running lights, LED projector lamps, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Exter will ride on 15-inch alloy wheels, but lower trims will come with steel wheels. Additionally, the SUV will feature roof rails, distinct body cladding, LED tail lamps, a single-pane sunroof, and ample ground clearance.
The interiors of the Hyundai Exter will be fitted with the latest infotainment technology and cabin comforts. The SUV will boast a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument panel, a multi-function steering wheel, and automatic climate controls.
Safety features on the Exter will include a total of 6 airbags and cruise control. Given that HMIL has recently updated safety equipment on the Creta, Venue, and i20, the Exter may also offer features such as three-point seat belts for occupants in both the front and rear, as well as adjustable headrests on the rear seat. These adjustable headrests not only provide added comfort to passengers but also offer more efficient protection against whiplash compared to fixed headrests.
The Hyundai Exter is scheduled for launch in August 2023, just ahead of the upcoming festive season. This SUV will be powered exclusively by a petrol engine lineup, with a CNG variant to be added later. The 1.2 litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine will produce 83 horsepower and 113.8 Nm torque, mated to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT transmission.
Hyundai may also introduce a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre CNG option at a later stage. The estimated price range for the Exter is expected to be between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). The Exter will face fierce competition in India, with rivals including the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
