Stay tuned for its global unveiling on July 13 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Hyundai's high-performance Ioniq 5 N EV nears its global debut, scheduled for July 13. The South Korean automaker is intensively testing the vehicle at Germany's renowned Nurburgring racetrack. The Ioniq 5 N marks Hyundai's first venture into the realm of high-performance, all-electric models. Notable features of the Ioniq 5 N include a simulated engine sound system with a 10-speaker setup and a simulated gearshifting experience.
While exact power figures and powertrain details remain undisclosed, Hyundai has shared some performance upgrades for the Ioniq 5 N. It will feature larger 400mm disc brakes composed of lightweight material. Additionally, the regenerative braking system has been fine-tuned to provide a maximum decelerative force of 0.6G.
Hyundai has also enhanced the cooling system, incorporating a larger cooling area, N-specific radiator packaging, a motor oil cooler, and a battery chiller. The Ioniq 5 N will benefit from heat management systems known as N Battery Preconditioning and N Race, which optimize battery temperature during different driving modes.
Hyundai's Ioniq 5 N offers an engaging driving experience through its N Active Sound + system, equipped with ten speakers, including internal and external units. These speakers produce simulated sounds of internal combustion engines, electric vehicles, and even fighter jets, with three distinct themes: Ignition, Evolution, and Supersonic.
The N e-Shift functionality complements this audio experience by simulating the sensation of an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, controlling motor torque output to emulate gearshift jerks.
Hyundai has subjected the Ioniq 5 N to rigorous endurance testing, covering 10,000km, and plans to undertake an additional 10,000km before final production. The global unveiling of the Ioniq 5 N is scheduled to take place on July 13 at the esteemed Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
Currently, Hyundai offers the standard Ioniq 5 in India, priced at Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The company also sells N Line variants of the i20 and Venue models, featuring performance enhancements compared to their standard counterparts.
