Hyundai Motor India Reports 4.31% Sales Growth for January-July 2024

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported total sales of 64,563 units in July 2024, consisting of 49,013 domestic sales and 15,550 exports. Year-to-date (YTD) sales from January to July 2024 reached 450,335 units, reflecting a year-over-year (YOY) growth of 4.31%. Although if compare 2024 July sales with previous year for the same month we get see decline in domestic sales with 3.33%.

SUV Performance and New Hyundai CRETA Milestones

In 2024, SUVs will have been a significant driver of growth for HMIL, comprising 66.6% of domestic sales. The new Hyundai CRETA has been a standout performer, with sales hitting 100,000 units by July 2024 since its launch in January. In July alone, the CRETA achieved its highest-ever monthly domestic sales with 17,350 units.

Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer of HMIL, commented on the performance: “We have posted an overall sales growth of 4.31% year-over-year in the period of January to July 2024. SUVs continue to demonstrate a robust contribution, accounting for 66.6% of total HMIL domestic sales. The new Hyundai CRETA achieved key milestones of 100,000 unit sales by July 2024, while also achieving the highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 17,350 units in July 2024.”

Sales Performance Overview

Despite a slight decline in sales for July compared to the previous year, HMIL's overall growth trajectory remains positive, driven largely by the strong performance of its SUV lineup.
