The upcoming Hyundai Verna will come equipped with several advanced safety features, including the Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS), which will offer level 2 ADAS functions through Hyundai SmartSense technology.
These features are similar to the ones already offered in the new generation Tucson SUV and include forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist and driver attention warning.
In addition to ADAS, the new Verna will come with approximately 65 advanced safety features, some of which are segment-first offerings.
These features include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which helps maintain stability during sudden manoeuvres.
Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), which helps maintain vehicle stability during cornering and in low-traction situations.
Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), helps prevent the car from rolling back on an incline.
Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), which is easy to use and helps prevent rollaway accidents.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), alerts the driver if the tire pressure is too low.
Hyundai has confirmed that the upcoming Verna 2023 model will come with several new and advanced features. Among these are a 10.25-inch HD infotainment screen and a digital cluster with TFT MID, which were previously announced.
Additionally, the new Verna will offer a switchable type of infotainment and climate controller, which is a first-in-segment feature, enhancing the user's interaction with both functionalities.
Moreover, the Verna will now come with ventilated and heated front seats, another first in the segment, providing greater comfort to the driver and passengers. The new Verna also boasts an eight-speaker Bose sound system, ensuring high-quality audio entertainment inside the cabin.
Under the hood, the Verna 2023 will be offered a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor as well as a turbocharged unit. The car will be available with both manual and automatic gearboxes, providing buyers with a range of options to choose from.
Once launched, the new Hyundai Verna will compete against several other popular sedans in India, including Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and the recently-updated Honda City. With its advanced features, including the switchable type infotainment and climate controller, and a range of safety features, the Verna is expected to be a strong contender in the compact sedan segment.
