Indian Army takes delivery of Toyota Hilux

The Indian Army is now replacing the old Maruti jeeps that have been serving in the army for many years. The new vehicle is expected to lead the next phase of the Army's transportation needs.

Toyota Hilux is known for its superior performance. It has all-wheel drive, low transmission, excellent maneuverability in difficult terrain and excellent water penetration capacity (700 mm).

The Indian army took delivery of the first Toyota Hilux as part of its efforts to modernize its fleet and improve its transportation system.

Pre-delivery testing includes testing the vehicle in extreme conditions such as rough terrain and extreme weather conditions. These include high altitude (13,000 feet) and low temperatures.

The MRV was delivered by Toyota Kirloskar Motor. Mahindra & Mahindra recently received 1,850 Scorpio Classic orders from the military.

Hilux is known for its off-road capabilities. It has all-wheel drive, low transmission, excellent maneuverability in difficult terrain and excellent water penetration capacity (700 mm). This model is powered by a 2.8 diesel engine with manual and automatic transmission options.

The military is also considering the introduction of electric vehicles. In particular, the Indian Air Force recently purchased 12 Tata Nexon electric vehicles.
