Rumored: Kia Sonet Facelift is highly anticipated to be launched by the end of 2023. The design of the new Sonet can be based on EV9 and EV5 concepts. Kia can also offer upgraded interiors and additional features in this upcoming SUV.
Based on recent reports, Kia Sonet will likely get its first mid-lifecycle facelift by the end of this year; the SUV was again spotted and tested in South Korea. The facelifted Kia Sonet can be introduced with comprehensive cosmetic upgrades inside the cabin and exterior design. It can also feature some new and advanced features, while mechanicals are expected to remain the same.

The Kia Sonet facelifted model can be launched in India with a sleek and horizontal headlamp setup. However, the internals and LED daytime can have some minor upgrades. There may be some new elements with fog lamp housing as available in the latest models of Kia, such as EV9 and EV5. New Kia Sonet can also have a newly designed front bumper and a wide central air intake with a larger mesh pattern. The overall design and look of the Kia Sonet are expected to remain the same except for the new dual-tone design and 16-inch alloy wheels. Kia can offer a vertically configured tail lamp and an LED light bar. There can be little tweaks in the rear bumper, and the rear profile may be kept similar to the Seltos facelift, EV5, and EV9 concepts.

Since heavy camouflage is inside the Kia Sonet facelift, we can expect an upgraded dashboard design or some interesting updates in the interior. The current variants of the Kia Sonet come with a 10.25-touchscreen infotainment system, sunroof, ambient lighting, Bose audio system, and fully ventilated seats. If Kia aims to update existing interiors, there could be a newly designed digital instrument cluster with enhanced graphics and more features.
Facelifted Kia Sonet is anticipated to carry the same mechanicals, including a powertrain. Kia recently introduced Sonet with RDE and E20 fuel-compliant powertrain, which will likely be fitted in the upcoming Kia Sonet. If the same powertrain option is continued, this upcoming SUV may offer two petrol engines. There would be a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of generating 83 HP power output and a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine capable of delivering 120 HP. The new Sonet can also offer a 1.5-liter diesel engine, delivering 116 HP. The gearbox options are likely to remain the same by the company.
Kia Sonet facelift is expected to be launched by the end of this year. The carmaker has also announced the official launch of the Seltos facelift model in July this year. Once launched, the new Sonet will compete with Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 300, Tata Nexon, Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
