Mahindra Registers Highest SUV Sales of 43,708 Units in October 2023

Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s largest SUV automobile company, has announced the monthly sales figure for October 2023. The automaker sold 43,708 units of SUVs in both domestic and international markets, registering a YoY growth of 36%. The automaker also registered moderate sales figures for its commercial vehicle segment, with a domestic sales number of 25,715 units.

In the SUV segment, the automaker achieved the highest sales for the fourth consecutive month, with domestic sales of 43,708 units. Year-to-date numbers for 2023 indicate that Mahindra sold 258,622 units of passenger vehicles in the domestic market, witnessing a growth of 29% compared to last year.

The October 2023 sales of Mahindra commercial vehicles below 2T and between the 2T-3.5T category stood at 4,335 and 20,349 units, respectively. Compared to previous data, the sales figure denotes a 5% and 29% growth in each segment. Moreover, the LCV>3.5T and the MHCV segment saw sales of 1,031 units to register a growth of 49%.

The sales of 3-wheelers, including EVs, registered a substantial 9,402 units in October 2023, marking an 85% growth.

While the domestic sales data of Mahindra shows positive growth, the automaker also encountered declined export numbers. Mahindra’s export figure for October 2023 was reported at 1,854 units, while year-to-date data registered at 16,170 units, marking a modest 13% decrease in total export compared to the previous year.

During the month, it was also anticipated that Mahindra is planning its Thar.e for the Indian market. The upcoming five-door SUV can be launched by 2026 with a 60kWh battery pack.
