Get ready for an epic battle as Maruti Fronx gears up to launch in the coming weeks, giving a tough fight to the Tata Punch!

Maruti Suzuki India has set a target to become the top Utility Vehicle (UV) brand in India by the fiscal year 2024. To achieve this, the company plans to introduce two major SUVs - Fronx compact crossover and Jimny 5-door, aiming to double their SUV sales. The Maruti Fronx is expected to be launched in the upcoming weeks and will face competition from Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. The Jimny 5-door is expected to be available in showrooms by late May 2023. Here are the important details about Maruti Fronx.
The Maruti Fronx, a compact crossover SUV based on the Baleno, is built on the Heartect monocoque platform. It shares some body panels with the Baleno hatchback but has a split headlamp design and an upright nose resembling the Grand Vitara. The front and rear bumpers have a sporty look with faux skid plates and a restrained use of chrome. The side profile features 17-inch alloy wheels and a sloping roofline that extends towards the tailgate.
The Maruti Fronx's base variant, Sigma, comes with several standard features including automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, a dual-tone interior, fabric seats, power windows, tilt-adjustable steering, a 60:40 split-folding rear seat, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, rear defogger, hill hold assist, electronic stability program, halogen projector headlamps, and steel wheels with wheel covers.
The Maruti Fronx compact crossover SUV includes a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, voice assistant functionality, a 6-speaker sound system, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, a wireless charger, rear AC vents, Suzuki's connected car features, a rearview camera, fast USB charging ports, a Head-Up display, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It is important to note that the availability of these features may vary depending on the specific variant.
The Maruti Fronx compact crossover SUV has an overall length of 3995mm, a width of 1550mm, and a height of 1765mm. The car is available in nine exterior colour options including Arctic White, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Nexa Blue, Earthen Brown, Splendid Silver with Black roof, Earthen Brown with Black roof, and Opulent Red with Black roof.
The Maruti Fronx comes equipped with a new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol Boosterjet engine and a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, capable of generating 100bhp with 147.6Nm and 90bhp with 113Nm of torque, respectively. The car has a standard 5-speed manual gearbox, with optional 6-speed torque converter automatic and 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) gearboxes available for the turbo-petrol and NA petrol variants, respectively.
