With two engine options and a redefined interior featuring cutting-edge technology, this flagship model promises opulence, performance, and elegance. Bookings are now open for the unveiling on August 9th, 2023.

Mercedes-Benz India is gearing up to unveil the much-anticipated second-generation GLC SUV, a crucial model for the brand in the Indian market. The GLC has long been a best-seller for Mercedes-Benz, offering a perfect blend of luxury, performance, and capability that resonates well with Indian buyers. Now, the facelifted version of the first-generation GLC is making way for the all-new, redefined second-generation model, set to launch on August 9th, 2023.
Dealers have been unofficially accepting bookings for the upcoming GLC, but Mercedes-Benz India has officially opened bookings with a token amount of Rs. 1.5 lakh. The new GLC promises to maintain its core values while taking luxury to new heights.
Upon its launch, the SUV will face fierce competition in its segment, going head-to-head against rivals such as the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Jaguar F-Pace, Volvo XC60, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and to some extent, the Land Rover Range Rover Velar.
In India, the new GLC will be available with two engine options. The GLC 300 4Matic will be powered by a 2.0L turbo petrol engine equipped with a 48V mild hybrid setup, delivering an additional 27 bhp for an enhanced driving experience. The second powertrain option is the reliable 2.0L turbo diesel in the GLC 220d 4Matic variant.
While it would be great to see the more potent GLC 400d or even the GLC 350d with Mercedes' renowned 3.0L V6 diesel, the brand is understandably holding back from introducing the GLC 63 S AMG in the Indian market.
Prices for the new GLC are expected to fall between the Rs. 70 lakh and Rs. 80 lakh price range (ex-showroom). For reference, the starting price of the GLC 300 model without the 4Matic AWD system in the USA is USD 47,100 (approximately Rs. 38.64 lakh).
As evident from test mules, the second-gen GLC boasts a slight exterior redesign, but it's inside the cabin where the real transformation takes place. Drawing inspiration from the C-Class and even the flagship S-Class, the new GLC features a stunning 11.9-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The intuitive NT7 user interface enhances the functionality of these displays, ensuring an unmatched user experience.
Mercedes-Benz India is renowned for offering exceptional quality and opulence, and the new GLC is expected to elevate this reputation further in its segment. On August 9th, 2023, the company will reveal the pricing and equipment details curated specifically for the Indian market, promising a luxury SUV experience like no other.
