With its bold design, advanced infotainment system, powerful engine options, and thrilling driving dynamics, the CLE is set to make its mark in the luxury coupe segment.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new CLE, a striking offering that replaces both the E-Class Coupe and the C-Class Coupe. Designed to provide a more sporty and visually captivating alternative to its siblings, the CLE is set to hit the market towards the end of the year, captivating automotive enthusiasts with its sleek design and impressive features.
The new Mercedes CLE boasts a design that sets it apart from its counterparts, the C-Class and E-Class. With a larger and more rounded grille compared to the C-Class and without the thick black trim found in the E-Class, the CLE exudes a sense of sportiness and confidence. The headlights further enhance their distinctiveness with their thin and sharp design. The silhouette remains faithful to its predecessor, the outgoing C-Class Coupe, featuring sleek creases that add an element of intrigue. Alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches provide the finishing touch.
Those familiar with the new Mercedes C-Class will feel right at home in the CLE's cabin. The sweeping dashboard design, complete with three large air vents positioned above the central touchscreen, creates a sense of elegance and modernity.
The touchscreen infotainment system offers a host of features, allowing users to browse apps like TikTok, stream videos, and even play games like Angry Birds. The steering wheel and ambient lighting are shared with the C-Class, while the range of interior trim colours and materials, including perforated faux leather on AMG-line models, offers customization options for discerning buyers.
The new Mercedes CLE comes with a similar range of engines as the C-Class, ensuring a blend of performance and efficiency. Customers can choose from petrol or diesel options, all equipped with mild-hybrid technology and paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The entry-level 2.0-litre diesel variant delivers 200hp and achieves a 0-60mph time of 7.5 seconds.
The 2.0-litre petrol variant, available in rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive configurations, produces 204hp and achieves 0-60mph times of 7.4 and 7.5 seconds respectively. For those seeking more power, the all-wheel-drive-only 2.0-litre petrol variant delivers 258hp and achieves a 0-60mph time of 6.2 seconds. At the top of the range sits the 3.0-litre petrol variant, producing 381hp and accelerating from 0-60mph in just 4.4 seconds.
To enhance the sporty nature of the CLE, Mercedes has made specific suspension tweaks that make it more enjoyable to drive. Lowered by 15mm compared to the E-Class, the CLE can be equipped with adaptive dampers and rear-wheel-steering, providing agile cornering and enhanced manoeuvrability in urban environments.
The new Mercedes CLE is scheduled to go on sale later this year, with a cabriolet version set to arrive in 2024. While pricing details have yet to be announced, it is expected to be in line with the base-model E-Class, making it an enticing option with an estimated price tag of around £45,000.
As the newest addition to the Mercedes-Benz lineup, the CLE promises to offer an alluring combination of style, performance, and cutting-edge features, appealing to those seeking a distinctively sporty alternative in the luxury coupe segment.
