MotoGP represents the pinnacle of two-wheeled motor racing, featuring the fastest and most advanced motorcycles on the planet. This prestigious championship spans 19 rounds across five continents, encompassing three classes: MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3.
The MotoGP class boasts machines with a maximum engine capacity of 1000cc, a minimum weight of 157 kg, and power outputs exceeding 250 horsepower, reaching speeds of over 350 km/h. The riders competing in MotoGP are among the world's finest athletes, showcasing exceptional skill, bravery, and dedication on every lap.
The Grand Prix of Bharat will serve as the 13th round of the 2023 MotoGP season, featuring 22 riders from 11 teams as they battle it out on the 5.1 km long BIC track. The circuit, inaugurated in 2011 and previously host to Formula One races from 2011 to 2013, has been revamped to meet MotoGP standards.
This includes the addition of new safety features, run-off areas, and kerbs. The track's layout, featuring fast straights, sweeping corners, and challenging hairpins, promises ample opportunities for overtaking and poses significant challenges for the riders.
