New Jeep Wrangler to Be Launched as EV & Offer Better Off-Road Capabilities

Next-generation Jeep Wrangler will be based on Stellantis' large-STLA architecture and feature an electric powertrain for better off-road capabilities.
According to auto news sources, the CEO of Jeep, Christian Meunier, said that the upcoming next-generation Jeep Wrangler will pack better off-roader capabilities and will be launched with a pure electric powertrain.

The automaker has already provided electric versions of off-roader jeeps like Wrangle 4xe. The company sold about 38% of Wranglers 4xe in the first quarter of this year, Meunier added.
He said that Jeep expects these figures to increase by up to 50%-60% for the electrified version of Jeep Wranglers. Additionally, in a given statement, the CEO of Jeep mentioned that the customers are not being forced to purchase electric versions of Jeep. Instead, they understand electric versions offer more range and off-roading capabilities and require less to visit the petrol stations.
While talking about the off-roading capabilities of the electric Jeep Wrangler, he explained the EV would have a trial rating of 12 out of 10, suggesting the new generation will be even more powerful and capable for off-road requirements than current ICE-powered models.
The upcoming generation of Wrangler will feature Stellantis's large-STLA architecture. Further, the company is expected to debut the Wrangler EV by 2027.
