Renault unveils R5 Turbo 3E, an Electric Hot-Hatch Concept Car

The electric motors are powered by a 42-kWh lithium-ion battery pack installed beneath the floor.

In terms of performance, the Renault R5 concept produces roughly 370 horsepower and a massive 700 Nm of peak torque, allowing it to reach triple digit speeds in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200 kmph. The Renault R5 Turbo 3E has 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels and weighs 980 kg without the battery pack, increasing to 1,500 kg with the battery pack. A 380V/32A charger will take around 2 hours to fully charge the battery pack.

A tubular chassis with FIA-approved roll bars and a specialized Drift Mode, as well as the classic upright handbrake lever, supports it. To catch all of the activity, it has up to ten mounting brackets for cameras that may be put both inside and outside. It is 2020 mm wide by 4,006 mm long, including the enormous rear spoiler. It is 1320 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2540 mm. Renault will debut the R5 Turbo 3E at the 2022 Paris Motor Show next month. While no information on the final production car has been released, Renault's Alpine performance division is already hard at work on performance-oriented variants of the Renault 5.
