Royal Enfield Unveils Electric Himalayan at EICMA

Royal Enfield, India's leading motorcycle brand, showcased its first-ever electric motorcycle at the Exhibition of International Motorcycle and Accessories (EICMA) in Milan, Italy. This electric concept hints at what to expect from Royal Enfield in future launches.

What's New in Royal Enfield Electric Himalayan?

It's the first-ever all-electric adventure motorcycle from Royal Enfield, and its design is inspired by the new Himalayan 452. The motorcycle maker hasn't revealed the specifications or information about the electric motor, but this electric bike will likely be a capable off-roader. According to a company statement, the electric Himalayan features the characteristics of an adventure bike with an electric powertrain, making it a green product for bikers.

The recently unveiled electric Himalayan is the blueprint for Royal Enfield's future electric motorcycles, offering performance without compromise. Giving more details on the electric Himalayan project, Mario Alvisi, chief growth officer at EV, Royal Enfield, stated that the electric Himalayan is much more than just a design concept. It's a vision and glimpse of what customers should expect from Royal Enfield in the future, he said.

What Does the Report Say?

According to reports, the electric platform was developed by Royal Enfield and Stark Future. The Indian motorcycle brand invested 50 million Euros in the Spanish company and, in return, got help in exploring the possibilities of electric motorcycles. The reports also state that the electric Himalayan will be based on Stark's high-performance electric motocross, the Varg. Based on Royal Enfield, the design team utilized materials like organic flax fiber for composite bodywork and also focused on developing an in-house battery and the architecture.
