Tata confirms the Launch of Tata Tiago EV in September 2022

Tata confirms the launch of the Tata Tiago EV in India later this month. The car will be the 3rd EV offered by the company in the market and the prices will be announced soon.

Tata Motors has confirmed the addition of a new EV to its passenger vehicle lineup, the Tiago EV, which will sit beneath the current Tigor EV as the entry point to Tata's range of EVs while also making purchasing a Tata EV more affordable. The new electric hatchback will be added to Tata's lineup later this month.

There is little information on the model, but based on the company's existing portfolio, expect it to include the Ziptron electric vehicle architecture, with the electric motor likely being the same as that found on the larger Tigor.

Tata previously revealed a Tigor EV concept on the pre-facelift hatchback in 2017. The concept had an 85 kW electric motor that allowed it to reach 100 kph in about 11 seconds and a top speed of 135kmph. It had a range of about 100 kilometers.

We can expect the Tiago EV to borrow design elements from the Tigor EV, such as the blue trim elements and closed-off grille. In terms of features, the EV will have a similar feature set to the standard Tiago hatchback.
