Tata Curvv is expected to launch next year in India with the new name Tata Frest.

Tata Curvv will be known as Tata Frest | Expected to launch next year

In an exciting development, Tata Motors is preparing to launch the electric version of its highly anticipated SUV, the Curvv, next year. This comes as Tata recently trademarked the 'Frest' nameplate in India, indicating its potential association with the upcoming Curvv. The Curvv made its debut as a concept electric vehicle in April 2022, generating considerable buzz among automotive enthusiasts.

A Dual Strategy: Electric and ICE Versions

Tata Motors has adopted a dual strategy for the Curvv, unveiling both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants. Earlier this year, the company showcased the ICE version of the SUV at the auto expo, targeting a market release in 2025. However, it is the electric variant that has captured attention, as Tata aims to tap into the rapidly growing electric vehicle market.

Impressive Range and Powertrain

The forthcoming Tata Curvv will be built on Tata's Gen2 powertrain platform, ensuring enhanced performance and efficiency. The electric SUV is expected to offer a range of up to 500 kilometres, providing ample flexibility for everyday commuting and long drives. This range is made possible by advanced battery technology and Tata's focus on optimizing efficiency.

ICE Variant and Potential CNG Option

For those who prefer traditional internal combustion engines, Tata Motors is set to offer the ICE variant of the Curvv. Customers can expect a choice between a 1.2-litre or 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, delivering a balance of power and fuel efficiency. Additionally, there are rumours that Tata may introduce a compressed natural gas (CNG) variant of the Curvv SUV in the future, further expanding the vehicle's eco-friendly options.

Anticipation Builds for the Tata Curvv

As the automotive industry increasingly embraces electric mobility, Tata Motors' entry into the electric SUV segment with the Curvv has generated significant anticipation. With its promising range, advanced powertrain, and the potential for additional engine options, the Tata Curvv aims to capture the attention of environmentally conscious customers seeking a stylish and sustainable SUV. Car enthusiasts eagerly await its official launch, slated for next year.
