Volvo's C40 Recharge is now available in India at ₹61.25 lakh. Discover the latest electric vehicle technology.
Volvo India has finally pulled the curtains off its eagerly awaited C40 Recharge, setting its introductory ex-showroom price at ₹61.25 lakh. This launch marks the Swedish luxury carmaker's second entry into the all-electric vehicle segment in India, following the XC40 Recharge. The C40 Recharge enters the Indian market to take on formidable rivals such as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Sibling Rivalry and Market Strengthening
Apart from competing with external rivals, the C40 Recharge is poised to potentially impact the sales of its sibling, the XC40 Recharge. Moreover, it further solidifies Volvo's presence in the burgeoning Indian electric car market, where numerous players are introducing their own electric offerings.
Revealing the Mystery Behind the C40 Recharge
Volvo India had previously unveiled the C40 Recharge on June 14 this year, showcasing its design, features, and specifications. However, the pricing remained shrouded in mystery until today's announcement. Prospective buyers can anticipate delivery of the Volvo C40 Recharge to begin in early September, marking India's inclusion in the list of global markets where the vehicle is already available.
Design Excellence with Volvo Signature Elements
The C40 Recharge proudly carries Volvo's signature design elements. It features the iconic Thor's Hammer LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. In line with its electric identity, the front grille has been replaced by a closed-panel look. The sleek LED fog lamps and black air intake at the lower bumper resemble those of the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
Distinctive Styling and Elegance
When viewed from the side, the C40 Recharge sets itself apart with a coupe-like sloping roofline, a departure from the boxy appearance of the XC40 Recharge. The stylish alloy wheels and vertically oriented sleek LED taillights enhance the overall visual appeal of this electric vehicle.
A Palette of Choices
Buyers can personalize their C40 Recharge from a selection of eight striking colors: Black Stone, Fusion Red, Thunder Grey, Fjord Blue, Silver Down and Crystal White, Sage Green, and Onyx Black. In terms of dimensions, the EV measures 4,440 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,591 mm in height.
Tech-Savvy Interior and Comfort
Inside, the Volvo C40 Recharge offers a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. Comfort features include heated and ventilated front seats, vegan interiors, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, and an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) for safety.
Impressive Power and Range
Under the hood, the India-spec C40 Recharge is equipped with twin electric motors mated to a 78 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain. This powertrain churns out a robust 402 bhp of peak power and 660 Nm of maximum torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph takes just 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 180 kmph.
Charge Up Quickly
Globally, the C40 Recharge offers both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options, but in India, it promises a substantial 530 km of range on a single charge. Charging is a breeze, with the ability to go from 10% to 80% in just 27 minutes using a DC fast charger. Using an 11 kW level 2 charger, a full charge takes a mere eight hours.
