The Volvo EX90 Excellence electric luxury SUV is the latest offering from the Swedish automaker, promising a range of up to 650 km on a single charge.

In a bid to capture the attention of luxury SUV enthusiasts, Volvo has recently announced the unveiling of its latest offering, the EX90 electric SUV. This new SUV comes as the flagship model for the Swedish automaker, showcasing its commitment to sustainable mobility.
But the excitement doesn't stop there. Volvo has now revealed the EX90 Excellence, a two-row, a four-seater variant of their flagship EV, at the highly anticipated Auto Shanghai. This exclusive edition, which will initially be sold only in China, has been designed to appeal to the discerning tastes of affluent Chinese consumers who value luxury and exclusivity.
Visually, the EX90 Excellence bears striking similarities to the original EX90 model. The exterior of the car boasts a dual-tone paint scheme, with the choice of two colours accentuating its aerodynamic lines. Additionally, the car's specially designed 22-inch forged rims not only enhance the vehicle's overall aesthetics but also improve its aerodynamic efficiency, providing an optimal driving experience.
When it comes to the interior of the EX90 Excellence, there are some significant changes compared to the standard model. The most noticeable difference is the removal of the third-row seats, which has allowed Volvo to focus on enhancing the luxury factor of the EV's cabin.
One of the most striking changes in the EX90 Excellence is the replacement of the second-row seats with dual individual seats separated by a centre console. These seats have been designed with pillows to offer additional comfort to the occupants. The centre console is not just a functional component but has been thoughtfully designed to exude luxury. It even houses a fridge that is capable of holding a large beverage bottle, so you can quench your thirst on the go.
The centre console of the EX90 Excellence is a testament to Volvo's commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship. The natural wood used in the console has been ethically sourced, while the large Orrefors crystal that controls the fragrance dispenser adds a touch of elegance. The console also features a control panel for the heated and massaging seats and mood lighting, adding to the overall comfort and luxury of the cabin.
To keep in line with its commitment to sustainability, the EX90 Excellence comes with either a wool blend or Nordico upholstery. These materials have been carefully chosen and made from recycled materials like PET plastic bottles. This shows that Volvo is not just focusing on luxury but is also committed to sustainable and environmentally conscious practices.
When it comes to technology, the EX90 Excellence doesn't disappoint. The features available onboard are the same as those found in the standard three-row variant. The vehicle comes standard with a 5G connection, ensuring that you are always connected to the internet, no matter where you are. This feature is incredibly useful for long road trips and when you need to stay connected while on the move.
The EX90 Excellence also comes with a 14.5-inch centre screen that acts as the hub for the vehicle's infotainment and other functions. This large display is easy to use and provides a high-resolution view of all the features of the car, making it easy to navigate and control the vehicle's settings.
On the powertrain front, the EX90 Excellence is a powerhouse. It comes with a massive 111 kWh battery pack that powers a dual motor setup, channelling power to all four wheels. With this setup, the SUV can produce a peak power output of 496 horsepower and an impressive torque of 909 Nm. This ensures that the vehicle is always quick and responsive, making it a pleasure to drive.
In addition to its impressive power, the EX90 Excellence is also incredibly efficient. The SUV can run for up to 650 kilometres on a single charge, making it an ideal choice for long road trips and daily commutes alike. This means that you don't have to worry about running out of power or finding charging stations along the way.
