Kia has started road testing the Sorento Hybrid in India, signaling rapid development ahead of a likely 2026 launch. The locally manufactured SUV will target the premium segment with hybrid options and three-row seating.

The Kia Carens Clavis EV and Vinfast VF MPV 7 compete in India's electric 7-seater MPV segment, offering distinct advantages in features, size, battery options, and ownership benefits to suit different family needs.

Kia will manufacture hybrid vehicles in India and plans to offer hybrid options across its entire lineup by 2029, including the Seltos and Carens. The strategy expands Kia's hybrid and electric vehicle offerings for both domestic and export markets.

Kia India sold 29,112 units in March 2026, led by Sonet and Seltos with strong year-on-year growth. Premium models like Carnival and Syros saw steep declines, while EV6 and EV9 recorded no sales.

The Kia Sonet iMT turbo-petrol variant achieved 12.94 kmpl in city and 17.88 kmpl on highway tests, averaging 14.17 kmpl. The model features a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and now offers more accessible automatic options.

The 2027 Kia Seltos EX base variant debuted at the New York Auto Show with lifestyle accessories. US launch is set for mid-2026, followed by a hybrid version. The model features advanced tech and strong safety ratings.
