The all-new Kia Seltos has surged to the top of Korea’s compact SUV sales charts, thanks to its redesigned styling, efficient hybrid powertrain and segment-first Vibro Sound Seat feature.

Kia will launch the next-generation Sonet compact SUV in India by 2027 with a new platform, enhanced features, and improved safety. A strong hybrid powertrain is planned for 2028 or 2029, making it a segment first.

Kia will launch the Syros EV in July, featuring a 42kWh battery and 133bhp motor. This will be Kia's second locally produced electric vehicle for India, expanding its EV lineup to four models.

Kia will launch the second-generation Sonet in 2027 with a new K1 platform, updated features, and improved safety. The compact SUV will retain existing engines and add a hybrid variant after 2028, targeting 85,000 units annually.

Kia will expand its India lineup to 10 models by 2030, including 8 electrified vehicles like the Sorento hybrid and Syros EV, with plans for localised production and a target of 4.1 lakh annual sales.

India’s electric passenger vehicle market grew to 4.2% share in FY26, led by Tata Motors, JSW MG Motor, and Mahindra and Mahindra. New entrants held only 2% market share, while luxury segment trends varied.

The Kia Sonet iMT turbo-petrol variant achieved 12.94 kmpl in city and 17.88 kmpl on highway tests, averaging 14.17 kmpl. The model features a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and now offers more accessible automatic options.

The 2027 Kia Seltos EX base variant debuted at the New York Auto Show with lifestyle accessories. US launch is set for mid-2026, followed by a hybrid version. The model features advanced tech and strong safety ratings.

Kia has expanded the Sonet HTK trim to all powertrains and introduced the feature-rich HTK+ (O) variant. Prices for the HTK (O) start at Rs. 10.29 lakh, while the HTK+ (O) begins at Rs. 11.29 lakh, both on-road Mumbai.

Kia has launched the Sonet HTK (O) Turbo AT at Rs 9.10 lakh, offering a turbo petrol engine and clutchless manual. The Citroen C3 Shine Turbo AT, at Rs 9.32 lakh, competes with a six-speed automatic and modern features.

Kia will launch the Seltos Hybrid in the US by late 2026 with a 1.6-litre engine, while India is expected to receive a 1.5-litre hybrid version in 2027. The new Seltos features updated dimensions, advanced displays, and enhanced safety systems.

Kia India achieved record sales in March 2026 with 29,112 units, a 14.05% year-on-year rise. Q1 2026 sales reached 84,316 units, up 11.56%. Growth was driven by strong demand for Seltos, Sonet, and Carens.

The 2026 Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra both earned five-star Bharat NCAP safety ratings, with the Seltos achieving the highest scores for any ICE car tested. Both SUVs provide strong adult and child occupant protection and advanced safety features.

Kia will launch new GTX (O) and X-Line (O) variants of the Seltos in India, adding features like a head-up display and dashcam. These trims will be priced above current versions but below ADAS models, with enhanced safety and comfort.
