Mahindra eKUV100 Highlights
Mahindra has been successful in finally launching the eKUV100 electric vehicle (EV) in India starting at a lucrative price point of Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric KUV100 mini SUV has a 15.9kWh liquid-cooled battery which is considered good for a claimed range of 147km. Some of the latest features include connected car tech which allows the customer to set the temperature of the air conditioning before he gets into the car. One of the most affordable EV in India, rivals directly with Mahindra eVerito and Tata Tigor EV. Mahindra stunned everyone with an electric line-up at the 2018 Auto Expo. The KUV100 EV will be leading the electric car line-up from the Indian carmaker in the global market. Appearance wise, the front badging makes it stand apart and rest every other feature looks like the standard car. The inside cabin of the eKUV 100 carry the same dashboard design but only with a matte finish scrapping the shiny plastic bits from the gasoline-powered car. Mahindra is upfront in talking about the new eKUV100 connectivity features of remote diagnostics, cabin pre-cooling, and a real-time location tracking. The 6 seater electric compact SUV crossover gives the benefit to monitor the driver’s driving pattern and the battery status. Strengthening the eKUV is a 15.9kW electric motor which is good for 54.4 bhp and 120 Nm of torque. The vehicle can cover upto 150 kilometers with a quick single charging feature charging upto 80 percent in less than an hours’ time. The launch of Ekuv100 will also indicate a new powertrain. Prices aren’t announced yet but expect them to be marginally higher like the electric eVerito. Fully developed by Mahindra electric car division, the eKUV100 is ready to charge a premium in terms of value.
