Bajaj Auto October 2023 Sales Data Released: 2W and CV Sales Up, Exports Decline

Bajaj Auto Ltd has released its October 2023 sales data and reported a YoY sales increase of 35% in the 2-wheeler segment. The automaker sold out 206,131 units of two-wheels in October, as mentioned in a regulatory filing. On the other hand, the exports have declined by 5% YoY and touched 129,658 units against the 135,772 units of October 2022.

Baja Auto reported positive sales growth for its commercial vehicle segment, where the company sold 51,132 units against 36,786 units in October 2022, registering a positive increase of 39%. Based on recent sales data for the CV segment, the company claimed it generated the highest-ever domestic sales in October 2023.

However, the exports for commercial vehicles declined by 28%, with the sales decreasing from 16,549 units in October 2022 to 11,912 units in October 2023. Year-to-date sales for 2-wheelers increased in the domestic market and showcased a 16% YoY increase, reporting 1,326,737 units between April and October 2023. Year-to-date exports for two-wheelers decreased by 20% to 852,320 units between April and October 2023 from 1,066,412 units between April and October 2022.

Previously, Bajaj Auto announced its partnership with British Motorcycle manufacturer Triumph to launch premium-segment motorcycles in the Indian market. The companies launched two new premium motorcycles: the Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400X. The motorcycles have been priced competitively to directly rival Royal Enfield and gain market share in this segment.
