Check out the sales figures of Bajaj Auto in the month of March 2023

Bajaj Auto is an Indian multinational two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturing company. It is the world's third-largest motorcycle manufacturer and the second-largest in India. The company's popular brands include Pulsar, Platina, Dominar, and Chetak.
March 2023 sales
Bajaj recently revealed that the sales in the month of March is not impressive and it has to improve. Bajaj Auto disclosed its revenue numbers for the previous month. The business has performed well in terms of domestic sales, but its two-wheeler and commercial vehicle exports have been losing money. 2,47,002 two-wheeler vehicles were sold by Bajaj Auto in March 2023. This represented a 4% decline from the 2,56,324 units shipped in March 2022. However, it was an increase from the 2,35,356 units shipped in February 2023.
During March 2023, Bajaj Auto's domestic sales witnessed a significant surge of 42%, with 1,52,287 units sold, compared to 1,07,081 units in March 2022.
The Pulsar, Bajaj Platina, Bajaj CT, Bajaj Dominar, Bajaj Avenger, and Bajaj Chetak electric scooter were the top-selling bikes. However, the company's overall sales were impacted by a 37% Year over year decline in exports, with sales dropping from 1,49,243 units in March 2022 to 94,715 units last month.
Commercial vehicle sales
In the commercial vehicle segment, Bajaj Auto witnessed a similar trend, with domestic sales growing by 74% to 34,235 units in March 2023 compared to 19,671 units in March 2022.
However, exports fell by 51%, with 10,330 units exported in March 2023 versus 21,193 units in March 2022. Overall, the company sold 44,565 units in this segment, representing a 9% increase from the 40,864 units sold in March 2022.
When compared to the 1,26,752 units sold in March 2022, total domestic sales (2W + CV) grew by 47 percent to 1,86,522 units in the past month, while exports (2W + CV) decreased by 38 percent to 1,05,045 units. Total sales (domestic + exports) decreased by 2% to 2,91,567 units in March 2023 from 2,97,188 units sold in March 2022 due to lower exports.
Bajaj auto Fiscal year 2023 sales
Bajaj Auto recorded a decline in sales for the FY 2022-23 period, with two-wheeler sales dropping by 10% to 34,42,839 units, compared to 38,36,856 units sold in the FY 2021-22.
In the said segment, Bajaj Auto witnessed a 10% growth in domestic sales, with 18,05,883 units sold in the FY 2022-23 period, compared to 16,41,084 units in the same period last year. However, exports declined by 25%, with 16,36,956 units shipped in FY 2022-23 versus 21,95,772 units in FY 2021-22.
In the commercial vehicle category, domestic sales surged by 87% to 3,00,734 units in the FY 2022-23 period, but exports fell by 41% to 1,84,284 units, leading to a 3% increase in total sales to 4,85,018 units compared to 4,71,577 units in the FY 2021-22. These figures resulted in a 9% decline in YTD sales, with 39,27,857 units sold in FY 2022-23 compared to 43,08,433 units in the same period last year.
