Maruti Suzuki
On Monday, Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest car manufacturer, announced that it sold 1,80,0777 units of passenger vehicles in May 2025, including domestic, export, and OEM sales. While the figures are comparatively lower than last year’s sales performance in the same month, where the brand sold 1,85,514 units, some of its key segments witnessed promising growth. In May 2025, Maruti’s passenger car sales recorded 68,736 units, down from 78,838 units in the same month last year. The decline is driven by a sharp fall in the Mini segment, including Maruti Suzuki Alto and S-Presso, resulting in 6,776 units from 9,902 in May 2024. The compact cars segment, including flagship models like Baleno, Swift, and Dzire, also slipped to 61,502 units from 68,206. However, the Eeco van sales grew to 12,327 from 10,960 in the same month last year. The utility vehicle segment, including models like Brezza, Grand Vitara, and Fronx, show steady sales of 54,899 units, marking a marginal gain from last year's 54,204 units.
