With a twin-turbo V-8 and three electric motors, the Ferrari SF90 XX is the most extreme road-going Ferrari ever, and the first XX variant for the road. Both body styles are already sold out.

Ferrari has introduced its latest performance marvel, the SF90 XX, a road-legal version of its track-only XX program that combines racing car and grand tourer features. The SF90 XX is a more extreme edition of the SF90 supercar, with more power, less weight, and revised aerodynamics. Both a Stradale coupe and a Spider convertible will be built, but in limited numbers; both body styles are already sold out.

The SF90 XX models are powered by the same plug-in-hybrid powertrain as the standard model, which comprises a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and three electric motors. But for the SF90 XX, Ferrari engineers have modified the twin-turbo V-8 engine to extract more power from it. The V-8's inlet and exhaust ports have been polished, new pistons have been installed, and the compression ratio has increased. Peak power is 786 horsepower, an increase of 17 hp. Combined with a new Extra Boost feature for the electric motors, the total system output is 1016 horsepower, a gain of 30 hp.
Extra Boost is limited to the Qualify drive mode and works to quickly accelerate the car after exiting a corner. The feature is activated when the driver presses the throttle and can be used up to 30 times before the battery is drained. When not in Qualify mode, the SF90 XX should still be able to drive for about nine miles on battery power alone.
Changes have been made to the car's eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox too. New shift logic is borrowed from the Daytona SP3, and gear changes are accompanied by a roaring exhaust note with a lift-off overrun at higher RPM. The louder sound, which is piped into the cabin via a redesigned tube connecting the intake to the cabin, gives the SF90 XX the auditory experience of a race car.
Ferrari's official claim is a 0-to-100-Kmph time of 2.3 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than the SF90. That means it could reach 100 Kmph in less than two seconds.

The SF90 XX features a unique design that distinguishes it from the standard model. The front end has been reshaped with larger air intakes and a new splitter that increases downforce. The rear end has been redesigned with a larger diffuser and a new wing that can adjust its angle according to speed and driving mode. The wing also incorporates an air brake function that helps decelerate the car when braking hard.
The SF90 XX also sports new wheels that are lighter and more aerodynamic than the standard ones. They are wrapped in bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires that offer more grip and stability. The brakes have been upgraded with carbon-ceramic discs and six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear.

The SF90 XX is among Ferrari's most extreme road-going models to date, evolving the flagship supercar with a host of technologies honed on the series of track-day specials from which it takes its name. It is also Ferrari's first road-legal XX variant that sits at the extreme edge between a racing car and a roadgoing Ferrari sports car.
The SF90 XX will be produced in very limited numbers, with only 50 units of each body style planned. The price has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be significantly higher than the standard SF90's $625,000 base price. Unfortunately for those who are interested, both the coupe and Spider convertible are already sold out.
