Honda Monkey Lightning Edition is a premium and adorable 125cc bike that features a glossy yellow colour scheme and some cosmetic enhancements. It also has off-road capabilities and a loyal fan base.

Honda is known for its range of small bikes and scooters, such as the Monkey, which is one of the most charming and practical models. The Honda Monkey 125cc bike has a loyal fan base in Japan and several other countries. In Thailand, Honda has recently launched a new Lightning edition, which is a visual upgrade of the standard Monkey variant. It features a new colour scheme and some cosmetic enhancements that make it stand out from the crowd.
The Honda Monkey Lightning edition is a premium offering, priced at THB 108,900, which is approximately Rs 2.59 lakh. This is higher than the standard Monkey variant, which costs THB 99,700 (approx. Rs 2.38 lakh).
Honda also has another special edition called the Monkey Easter Egg edition, which is priced at THB 109,900 (approx. Rs 2.62 lakh).
The Honda Monkey Lightning edition is currently available only in Thailand. There is no official word on whether it will be launched in other markets, including India.

Design and ColourThe most striking feature of the Honda Monkey Lightning edition is the glossy yellow colour that covers various parts of the bike. The yellow shade is applied in an unconventional way, creating a contrast with the black and chrome elements. The bike looks stunning and adorable in this colour combination, showcasing the versatility of the Monkey’s design.
The yellow bits can be seen on the USD forks, fuel tank, side panels, swingarm and twin rear shock absorbers. The bike also has a generous amount of chrome on the front and rear fenders, headlamp, instrument console, brake and clutch levers, turn indicators and rear tail lamp.
Another interesting update is the checkered seat with quilted pattern. Stickering work on the fuel tank and side panels is also commendable. These have a contrasting shade and complement the bike’s overall look and feel.
Engine and PerformanceIn terms of hardware, Honda Monkey Lightning edition is largely the same as other variants. It is powered by a 125cc engine that generates 9.2 bhp of max power and 11 Nm of peak torque. It has a 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes at both ends with ABS at front. The fuel tank capacity is 5.6 litres and the rated fuel efficiency is 70.5 kmpl.
Off-Road CapabilitiesThe bike also has off-road capabilities with its raised front fender and block pattern tyres. These features allow the bike to tackle rough terrains and uneven surfaces with ease. The bike also has a ground clearance of 6.9 inches and a seat height of 30.5 inches, which provide adequate comfort and stability for off-road riding.
Thailand has a large market for 125cc bikes, especially scooters, as they are popular for urban commuting and leisure riding. According to web search results, some of the best-selling 125cc bikes in Thailand are Honda PCX125, Yamaha NMAX 125, Yamaha R125 and Honda Click125i. These bikes offer a combination of style, performance, comfort and convenience.
India also has a huge demand for 125cc bikes, mainly motorcycles, as they are preferred for their affordability, fuel efficiency and versatility. According to web search results, some of the top-selling 125cc bikes in India are Hero Splendor Plus, Honda SP 125, Bajaj Pulsar 125 and TVS Ntorq 125. These bikes offer a balance of power, mileage and features.
