The 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift has been revealed in India with a number of feature updates & a few changes in the specs. Read this space to know more.

Kia Sonet 2024 Facelift has been finally unveiled. During its global debut in India on 14th December, Kia revealed all the new features and specs updates of the compact SUV. With extremely competitive rivals like newly launched Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300, a facelift of Kia Sonet was already due from a long time. Moreover, The pre-facelift model also lacked many features that competition now offers.
Now, Kia has listened to the customer demands and added a number of new features that the pre-facelift Sonet lacked. Moreover, Kia has also brought back the manual transmission option with the diesel engine in the new facelifted Sonet. In this post, lets go through all these new features & interior updates, exterior & design changes, and the changes in the engine & transmission specs of the new 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift.

The new 2024 Kia Sonet facelift now looks much more stylish and proportionate compared to the pre-facelift model. Kia has significantly changed the front and rear of the Sonet. In the front Sonet gets a new design headlamp unit with integrated DRLs. The headlamp unit gets 3 different reflectors, 2 for low beam and 1 for high beam. The front fog lamps is also LED now, unlike the halogen one in the pre-facelift model. The front bumper and grille more or less looks the same with only minute difference. Also, front parking sensors can be seen in the new Sonet, that too 4 in number. As a part of the 360 degree surround view camera system, Kia has integrated the front camera in the upper part of the grille.
From the side, the design of the new Kia Sonet remain more or less the same with only substantial difference in the alloy wheels. Now, the GT line of the Sonet will come with the same alloy wheel design that the pre-facelift Sonet X-Line was offered with.
From the rear, the biggest change is the connected LED tail lamp running across the width of the compact SUV. Moreover, the rear bumper also gets minute update and Kia continues to offer 4 parking sensors in the rear, unlike some of it segment rivals. Also, the reverse light in the new Sonet has been moved to bottom of the rear bumper.

The new Kia Sonet now comes with several new features that the pre-facelift model was missing out on. These include:

The new Kia Sonet will continue to offer 3 engine options, i.e. a 1 litre T-GDi petrol with 6 speed manual or 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission and a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol with only 5 speed manual transmission. On the diesel front, the new Sonet will continue to offer a 1.5 litre CRDi VGT diesel with either 6 speed manual, 6 speed iMT (inteligent manual transmission) or a 6 speed torque converter automatic. The 1 litre T-GDi engine will deliver 120 PS of power & 172 Nm of torque. The 1.2 litre NA petrol will deliver 83 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque. And the 1.5 litre diesel will deliver 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque.
Verdict: With the new 2024 Sonet Facelift, Kia has definitely gone all guns blazing in the compact SUV segment. The korean brand has embeded almost all the features that any of the rival of the Sonet offers. Moreover, with 3 engine options and 5 transmission options, Kia Sonet will now cater to a wider range of customers.
