Maruti Suzuki October 2023 Sales Report: Sold 1,99,217 Units, 19% Up From Last Year

Maruti Suzuki India reported its highest-ever monthly sales in October, selling 1,99,217 vehicles, a 19% increase compared to October 2022.

Maruti Suzuki registered domestic monthly sales of 1,77,266 units, which is 21% higher annually. The automaker sold 1,68,047 units in September 2023, up from 140,337 units in October 2022.

Maruti’s mini segment cars, including Maruti Alto and S-Presso, registered a declined sales figure of 14,568 units against 24,936 units in October 2022. In the compact car segment, which includes models like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, the automaker sold 80,662 units, 73,685 units in the year-ago month.

The mini compact segment of Maruti Suzuki, including Ciaz, reported sales of 695 units against 1884 units last year for the same month. Additionally, the utility vehicle segment, including popular Suzuki cars like Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Suzuki Jimny, S-Cross, and XL6, achieved an incredible sales figure of 59,147 units, marking 91% of sales growth under this category. In October 2022, the automaker had sales of 30,971 units under the utility segment. The launch of Suzuki Jimny has helped the automaker sell more vehicles to Indian customers. The sales of the Maruti Eeco van have also increased compared to last year. During the last month, Maruti sold 12,975 units of Eeco against 8861 units of the past year.

The export figure of Maruti Suzuki India reported at 21,951 units against 20,448 units in October 2022. Overall, the festive season sales of Maruti cars in India are getting good responses from buyers, and the numbers are further anticipated to grow in November due to Dhanteras and Diwali.
