McLaren has equipped Artura PHEV with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 858 hp, which comes mated with a rear-mounted electric motor capable of delivering 95 Hp and 225 Nm torque.
Aggregately, this configuration of twin-turbo V6 powertrain and rear-mounted electric motor produces 680 hp of power output and 720 Nm of peak torque. Further, the engine is aligned with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, enabling a smooth and effortless drive experience.
Artura can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.0 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 8.3 seconds. The top speed of McLaren's this high-performance hybrid supercar reaches up to 330 kmph. It packs a 7.4 kWh battery that offers up to 31 km range with a top speed of 130 kmph on a single charge.
The battery can be charged from 0%-80% in about 2.5 hours and can also get power from the engine based on selected drive (E-Mode, Comfort, Sports, and Track) modes.
Arutura is McLarent's first supercar based on Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA), and the company claims that this architecture is particularly optimized for hybrid applications. Artura also gets a carbon-fiber tube with aluminum beams and a rear subframe to support the hybrid powertrain and suspensions.
The curb weight of this all-new McLaren luxury car measures 1,498 kg, while the dry weight measures 1,395 kg. Discussing the dimensions of Artura, the car measures 4,539 mm in length, 2,640 mm in wheelbase, 1,193 mm in height, and 2,080 mm in width.
Further, McLaren has provided a 66-liter fuel tank as standard and a 160-liter fuel storage capacity in the front trunk.
Like all McLaren supercars, Arutura also features an identical headlamp but some additional lighting elements. The car has a mid-essential sports car design, 19-inch front, and 20-inch rear alloy wheels.
Artura looks similar to McLaren GT from the rear profile and has thin tail lamps while the exhaust tips are mounted on top of the plate housing. The McLaren brand logo is placed between the two exhaust tips at the rear side.
Inside the cabin, there is an 8-inch vertically fitted touchscreen McLaren infotainment system II with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The carmaker also offered dual-zone climate control, two USB ports, and ADAS technology.
McLaren Artura's ex-showroom price commences from Rs 5.1 crore. This supercar is expected to rival the Ferrari 296 GTB (ex-showroom price Rs 5.4 crore) and Maserati MC20 (ex-showroom price Rs 3.69 crore).
