MG Gloster Black Storm Edition to Launch on May 29, Plus Teased Before the Launch

On social media, MG Motor, a British automobile company, teased the upcoming Gloster Black Storm Edition before the official debut in India. With this ten seconds teaser, the company highlights Black Storm badging and some key enhancements in the exterior.

MG Motor India can launch its Gloster Black Strom Edition with some cosmetic changes, as we usually see in Tata cars with Dark Edition. There might also be some new features to differentiate this new edition. The automaker can offer a special black paint scheme with all-black alloy wheels similar to those shown in the teaser. There could be some red accents on the exterior and interior to enhance the overall look of this upcoming SUV. Inside the cabin, MG may provide black leather upholstery to match the theme of the exterior.

However, there would be no upgrade in the powertrain except making it BS6 Phase-II compliant. The MG Gloster may continue to get power from a 2.0-liter engine capable of producing 159 bhp of power and 373 Nm of torque. The 4WD variant of MG Gloster Black Strom Edition could deliver 214 bhp of power and 480 Nm of torque. Both variants are likely to be fitted with an 8-speed automatic transmission system.

MG can equip this special Black Strom Edition of Gloster with a 360-degree camera, automated emergency braking (AEB), heated seats, air filter, level-1 blind spot detection, and a wireless charging system. Currently, the ex-showroom price of MG Gloster commences from Rs 32.60 lakh to 42.38 lakh, and once the Black Storm Edition is launched, its prices may increase.

The expected ex-showroom price of MG Gloster Black Strom Edition may range up to Rs 38 lakh. Once launched, the new Gloster will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian.
