With improved quality, powerful performance, and an India launch on the horizon, the new Duster aims to make a lasting impact.

The Dacia Duster, known as the Renault Duster in some markets, has enjoyed immense success worldwide since its launch. Its combination of SUV proportions and monocoque chassis has made it a cost-effective and popular choice among buyers.
With the upcoming release of the new Renault Duster, the compact SUV/crossover segment is set to witness a potential game-changer. Let's examine the details captured in recent spy shots, offering a glimpse of its exterior design.
At first glance, it's evident that the new Renault Duster appears larger than its second-generation counterpart. Built on the CMF-B platform, it is capable of accommodating internal combustion engines, hybrid powertrains, and battery-electric vehicles. The design draws inspiration from the striking Renault Bigster concept, exuding an imposing and intimidating aura. The front fascia showcases a distinctive and aggressive appeal, resembling that of an angry robot.
The front end features three stacked LED elements converging towards the centre, where either the Dacia or Renault badge will be placed. Previous spy shots only revealed the illumination of the outer LED elements. However, new shots disclose that the outer and middle LED elements are now lit. Future spy shots are expected to showcase the illumination of the inner LED elements as well.
A wide grille and a muscular, boxy bumper contribute to the Duster's character. Notably, two vertical slits add a touch of style, although they may be cosmetic rather than functional vents. Expect to see flared wheel arches and wide rear haunches reminiscent of the Bigster concept. The 17" alloy wheels feature a striking 5-spoke design with a dark finish, adding to the overall aesthetic.
The new Duster is likely to offer a ground clearance of approximately 220mm to 230mm, comparable to that of the Honda Elevate. Additionally, there are strong indications that all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrains will be available. The shortened height of the front windscreen suggests the presence of upright A-pillars, which should enhance interior space—a departure from the India-spec Captur.
Unlike the first-generation Duster in India, the new model boasts rear disc brakes. The exhaust appears prominent on the test mule, although the final production model is expected to have a more refined design. Split-type tail lights add a touch of sportiness, while a sporty roof spoiler reminiscent of the Nissan Magnite further enhances the exterior. Renderings of the design elements provide a clearer picture of its potential impact.
Although the spy shots do not reveal the interior, significant improvements in terms of quality, design, and overall layout are anticipated compared to the outgoing models. Renault and Dacia may unveil further details in 2024, with the launch potentially extending into 2025. Given the previous popularity of the Duster in India, an India launch seems likely, which will undoubtedly generate significant interest among Indian consumers.
With its bold design, enhanced features, and potential advancements in quality, the all-new Renault Duster aims to leave a lasting impression on the compact SUV/crossover segment. As automotive enthusiasts await further updates, the Duster's anticipated release promises to captivate the market and reaffirm its position as a popular choice among SUV enthusiasts.
