Renault is readying its all-new Sandero-based compact SUV to launch in Brazil, followed by other countries. Although this SUV will be hardly available in India, here is why.

Renault is readying its all-new crossover SUV based on Sandero for growing markets. It's anticipated that this new SUV from Renault may have four meters of overall length. It can be launched in Brazil in the coming months and later in other countries. When submitting patent drawings to the National Institute of Industrial Property, Brazil, the information about this upcoming SUV leaked.

Renault to Offer a Sandero-Based Compact SUV

Key Highlights

  • This upcoming SUV from Renual would be based on Dacia Sandero
  • It may feature styling curves from Triber and Kiger sold in India
  • This all-new Renault car will be first introduced in Brazil, followed by other markets.

Renault Compact SUV Overview

Renault currently sells Kiger as its smallest SUV in the Indian market, although this compact SUV is not on sale in many international markets. Therefore, the carmaker is left behind under entry-level SUV line-ups in many emerging markets like South America. In South America, many compact SUVs are on sale, especially Fiat Pulse, which has become popular in this market. Renault will enter this segment and these emerging markets with this new offering.

Renault Compact SUV Design

The all-new Renault compact SUV will be based on a modular CMF-B platform and locally manufactured in Brazil. The car may get some elements of Dacia Sandero. Moreover, Renault plans to launch more cars based on the same platform. The brand can provide a split headlamp with a double-layer grille, tall bumper, and chin with faux brushed aluminum skid plate.

This upcoming SUV may also have chunky cladding on wheel arches, upgraded ground clearance, a coupe-SUV-like bodyshell, and more details for a rugged look. On the rear side, the carmaker will offer a C-shaped design that will be more similar to Kiger. Further, the top-end variants can be offered with more stylish alloy wheels, roof rails, and shark fin antenna.

Renault Compact SUV Expected Powertrain

Renaul's this new SUV may have a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine. Although, it's yet to be revealed whether the engine would be the same as Kiger and Magnite. The car will be positioned below the second-generational Duster, already sold in Brazil. According to the sources, the upcoming Duster can feature a CMF-8 platform. It will be more likely to produce in its plant in Brazil.

Will This All-New Renault SUV Come in India?

The new Renault SUV will be less likely to be launched in India as Indian customers already have Kiger. The Renault Kiger falls in the same category, which is based on the CMF-A+ platform. Moreover, the same platform is also available in Triber MPV and Magnite SUV.

It's anticipated that Renault may launch its new-generation Duster in the Indian market by Diwali 2025.
