Price Hike for Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Updated Pricing Details

Royal Enfield released its top-tier motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650, in January 2023. However, the brand has recently raised the prices of this motorcycle in the Indian market. The price increase amounts to approximately Rs. 6,000 for all three variants. Besides the price adjustment, Royal Enfield has made no other modifications to the motorcycle.

As of now, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 begins with the Astral variant, followed by the Interstellar variant, and finally, the top-end Celestial variant. Please note that all prices mentioned are ex-showroom.

The Super Meteor 650 is equipped with a powerful 648 cc parallel-twin engine. This engine is cooled by a combination of air and oil, and it features a 270-degree crankshaft. It delivers a maximum power output of 46 bhp at 7,250 rpm and a peak torque of 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that includes a slip-and-assist clutch for smooth shifting.

It is important to note that the Super Meteor 650 shares the same engine as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. However, Royal Enfield has made adjustments to the fueling and geared specifically for the Super Meteor 650 to meet its unique requirements.

The braking system of the Super Meteor 650 consists of a 320 mm disc at the front and a 300 mm disc at the rear. Both the front and rear brakes use twin-piston floating callipers. Royal Enfield has employed a Steel Tubular Spine Frame for the motorcycle's structure. The front suspension features 43 mm Upside Down Telescopic Forks with 120 mm of travel, while the rear suspension includes twin shocks with 101 mm of travel and preload adjustment.

Royal Enfield is currently in the process of developing multiple new motorcycles. It is anticipated that the brand will introduce or reveal three new bikes this year. These upcoming models include the Shotgun 650, Himalayan 450, and the next-generation Bullet 350. While the Himalayan 450 is expected to be unveiled later in the year, the exact timeline for the launch of these motorcycles is uncertain, which means there is a possibility of delays.
