Suzuki launched the Suzuki Katana in India. The Suzuki Katana price in India starts at around Rs. 13.61 lakh(ex-showroom).
The Suzuki Katana has gone on sale officially in India. Its been only a few days since the Suzuki Katana was teased on social media accounts of the Japanese auto-giant. The Suzuki Katana price in India starts at Rs. 13.61 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Katana has a long history and a legacy to follow as it was first used in 1981 and was retired in 2006 until being brought back in front of the world again in 2019.
The Suzuki Katana is a homage to the famous GSX1100S Katana in terms of design, with its fairing and rectangular headlamp especially when viewed from the front. The Katana portrays a contemporary take on the motorcycle from the 1980s, maintaining a neo-retro aesthetic.
The Suzuki Katana has a similar powertrain to the venerable GSX-R1000 K5, albeit in a more modern design. The six-speed transmission is mated to the 999 cc inline four-cylinder engine, which produces 150 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 106 Nm of torque at 9250 rpm. The 43 mm KYB fully adjustable front forks and a linkage-style mono-shock at the back of the Katana suspend the frame. Brembo is responsible for the braking system, which features four-piston calipers that are radially placed on twin 310mm discs up front and a single disc at the rear.
The Katana comes with technological aids like low RPM help, a bi-directional quick-shifter, a ride-by-wire throttle system, and traction control with five modes (which may be completely turned off). You also have an LCD instrument cluster that can be adjusted for brightness and provides simple but enough information.
Suzuki Katana price in India starts at Rs 13.61 lakh (ex-showroom). Although it doesn't appear that the Suzuki Katana has any direct competitors, it can be compared to the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX. Can the Katana follow in the footsteps of its older brother, the Hayabusa, and gain its own fan base?
