Uber India introduces 'Emission Savings' feature, enabling users to track CO2 reduction from Uber Green rides. This innovation fosters sustainability and empowers informed choices, aligning with global environmental priorities.
Key Highlights:
Uber has unveiled an all new and creative feature aimed at helping users to monitor their environmental impact through their rides. Named as 'Emission Savings,' this innovative addition provides riders with insights into the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions which will be emitted by their choice of Uber Green rides.
The execution of this feature marks a significant step towards sustainability within the transportation sector. Available first in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, users opting for Uber Green rides, can now easily track their contributions to environmental conservation.
Nitish Bhushan, Head of Central Operations at Uber India, emphasised the importance of providing users with tangible information about their environmental footprint, stated, “We understand that often it is tough for people to realise exactly how much they contribute to the environment by taking a single ride in a vehicle running on sustainable energy. The scale of that impact is an important tool to have at their fingertips in order for them to make more informed decisions around sustainability in their day-to-day lives. Emission Savings is designed to do just that!”

By integrating these functionalities, Uber aims to not only inform users about their environmental impact but also inspire them to embrace sustainable transportation alternatives. This initiative underscores Uber's commitment to driving meaningful change towards a greener and more eco-conscious future.
As the global community increasingly prioritizes environmental sustainability, initiatives like 'Emission Savings' play a pivotal role in promoting conscious consumer behavior and reducing the carbon footprint associated with urban mobility. With its rollout in key metropolitan regions, Uber India sets a precedent for leveraging technology to foster environmental stewardship within the transportation industry.
