Yamaha's Neo's electric scooter gets a refresh for 2023

Yamaha has recently unveiled an updated version of its electric scooter, the Neo's, for the international market. Boasting a new turquoise colour scheme, this petite EV is a modern and quirky vehicle that is perfect for navigating the city streets. While the design remains largely unchanged, the Yamaha Neo's comes equipped with split-LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and a unique LED tail lamp mounted on the number plate holder.

Under the hood, the Yamaha Neo's is powered by a 2.03kW motor, which is equivalent to a 50cc scooter. The scooter comes with two removable lithium-ion batteries, providing a range of up to 70 km on a single charge. The top speed of the vehicle is limited to a modest 40kmph, making it ideal for short commutes around the city. Charging time for the batteries takes approximately 8 hours.

The Yamaha Neo's also boasts a range of impressive features, including an LCD display with smartphone connectivity. This allows riders to access vital information such as battery status, route tracking, calls, and messages.

Yamaha has already showcased the Neo's electric scooter in India to select dealers. However, it is expected that Yamaha will use the Neo's as a base to develop an India-specific electric scooter, which is expected to hit the Indian market by the end of this year or early 2024. The Yamaha Neo's is a promising addition to the company's electric scooter lineup and is sure to appeal to riders looking for an eco-friendly and stylish mode of transportation.
