The bookings for Hyundai Exter are open, and the first units are anticipated to be delivered by July third or fourth week. According to reports, a larger percentage of customers are showing interest in higher variants of Exter with automatic transmission.
Hyundai Exter gets a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, while the company also offers the CNG powertrain option. There is both manual and automatic transmission option on petrol variants. However, the customers have only a manual transmission option in the CNG variant.
A 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol powertrain powers this micro SUV, producing 82 bhp of power output and 114 Nm of peak torque. Exter carries the same platform available in Hyundai Aura and Grand i10 Nios.
Hyundai has announced plans to launch this micro SUV in five variants: EX, S, SX, SX(O), and top-spec SX(O) Connect. The carmaker has offered six airbags as a standard feature.
This upcoming subcompact SUV will have new first-in-segment features like a dashcam with dual cameras and a smart electric sunroof. Further, the sunroof can also be controlled via voice command like "I want to see the sky."
Some additional features, like a dashcam with a 5.84cm LCD, smartphone connectivity, and different recording mode, including Driving (Normal), Event (Safety), and Vacation (Timelapse), are available in the all-new Hyundai Exter.
Hyundai has offered electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill assist, 3-point seatbelts, and ABS with EBD as safety features. The SUV also has a tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking camera, ISOFIX mounts, and a Burglar alarm system.
The recent and partially shown Exter teaser and spy shot revealed that the SUV would feature boxy proportions with a split headlamp configuration and a tailgate with a slightly raked rear glass area.
Hyundai Exter will also be available in different color options, including blue, white, and red. There are dual-tone alloy wheels, paint options, and a roof tail for a stylish and modern look.
Hyundai will officially launch the Hyundai Exter on July 10. The Exter will compete with popular sub-compact SUVs in India, including Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger, Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Nissan Magnite.
