KTM gets major gearbox update: Details Inside

KTM is a bike and sports car manufacturer company, The company is famous for its high performance sports cars and street motorcycles. In India KTM is famous for its 200cc and 390cc motorcycle range; these are the top most selling bikes in India.

The company is focusing more on the comfort side that's why the 1290 Super Adventure S has features like Adaptive cruise control, heated grips and TMPS.

The news is coming from sources that Austin Marque is working to add a semi-automatic gearbox in V-Twin Engine models.

Semi-automatic gearbox in KTM: what's the difference?

Unlike the Manual the semi-automatic gearbox is easy and beginner friendly. The semi-automatic gearbox allows the rider to change gears without depressing the clutch lever. The new KTM semi-automatic transmission will employ a centrifugal clutch which allows you to release the clutch lever without the bike stalling at a standstill.

The smart clutch system on the MV Agusta SCS is pretty similar to the new semi-automatic gearbox in KTM. This new clutch is very easy to handle in the busy traffic conditions and due to the ease KTM also sells this to Harley Davidson because of its usefulness.

The distribution and the purchasing of the Italian Brand MV Agusta is now done by KTM because KTM recently bought a 25 percent stake in the Italian company. It is expected to see this new clutch in KTM 1290 Super Duke GT or 1290 Super Adventure in future.
