The other flagship model is LF-ZL, to be launched as a premium SUV. Both concept cars feature the LF (Lexus Future) nameplate, indicating the future concept cars from the automaker.
According to Lexus, the top-spec trim of LF-ZC will deliver the top range of 1,000 km on a single charge, while the lower-spec variants will be launched with a lower range. The premium sedan sits on a new common architecture employed on various future electric models from Toyota and Lexus. There is a new-generation prismatic battery pack that is tuned to offer improved and efficient performance.
Lexus LF-ZC has the same platform offered in Lexus LF-ZL, Toyota FT-3e, and Toyota FT-Se, which has a modular design to fit various sizes and types of vehicles. The platform is also capable of featuring different engine layouts. The automaker claims that the design of this new platform is more lightweight and optimized than current options.
To divide the modular structure into three parts, the automaker has used the 'gigacasting' technique. Further, the battery pack is installed in the middle of the vehicle to ensure better configuration for the front and rear wheel structure. The report also states that the design will pack integrated parts for better rigidity.
While there is no confirmation by the company on the powertrain, it is confirmed that the powertrain option includes a single motor and rear-wheel drive. It's anticipated that automakers can offer dual-motor and four-wheel drive options in top-spec models.

Lexus claims the electric sedan will offer twice the range of conventional BEVs using next-generation batteries and optimize energy efficiency. The production variant of LF-ZC is likely to get Lexus' new Arene operating system that is capable of making a significant impact on driving dynamics. It indicates that automakers can offer manual EV transmission, which might be in the production phase.
The concept electric sedan from Lexus gets low slung and low drag coefficient of 0.2, making it capable of delivering maximum range. The LF-ZC sedan measures 4750 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, and 1930 mm in height, while the wheelbase of this EV is 2890 mm. The exterior design of LF-ZC shows the latest version of the design language from the automaker, which focuses on ensuring aerodynamics optimization. The front profile features the trademark Lexus' spindle,' while the rear wheel arches are shaped to improve the car's stance.
For the side profile, the automaker has given a bold steering yoke with steer-by-wire technology; the primary controls have been provided in the cockpit area. The left pad can be used for safety, drive assist, and drive mode selections. The right pad is given for climate and audio controls.
The interior packs a 'distant view meter' similar to a head-up display and displays the information on the windscreen. The electric sedan also gets digital wing mirrors to help improve visibility and maintain a focus on the road. There is an ultra-wide monitor for passengers, which can be used for entertainment.
