Maruti Suzuki is offering enticing deals on its entire Nexa lineup, excluding the XL6 model, for January. These benefits apply to both MY23 and MY24 manufacturing year stocks, with 2023-manufactured cars offering higher cash benefits. However, the potential buyers should note that the resale value of 2023-manufactured cars may also be affected as compared to MY24 units. The offers are backed by some substantial discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate benefits.

Maruti Ignis

For the Maruti Ignis, MY23 units will be provided with cash discounts of up to Rs 40,000, exchange bonuses of Rs 15,000, and an optional scrappage benefit of Rs 20,000, resulting in total benefits of up to Rs 59,000. Meanwhile, MY24 units offer with slightly reduced cash discounts, totaling the benefits of up to Rs 44,000. The Ignis, priced between Rs 5.84 lakh and Rs 8.16 lakh, is an attractive option for manual transmission variants.

Maruti Baleno

Moving on to the Maruti Baleno, MY23 units offer up to Rs 25,000 in cash discounts, with exchange bonuses and scrappage benefits, resulting in total benefits of up to Rs 42,000. MY24 units, however, will come with reduced cash discounts, offering benefits up to Rs 27,000. These offers are applicable to select variants of the Baleno, priced between Rs 6.61 lakh and Rs 9.88 lakh.

Maruti Ciaz

For the Maruti Ciaz, MY23 units will be present with cash discounts of up to Rs 25,000, exchange bonuses of Rs 25,000, and scrappage benefits of Rs 30,000, resulting in total benefits of up to Rs 53,000. MY24 units, however, miss out on cash discounts but retain exchange bonuses and scrappage benefits, providing benefits up to Rs 28,000.

Maruti Jimny

MY23 units, particularly the top-spec Alpha variant, provide cash discounts up to Rs 1 lakh and corporate discounts up to Rs 5,000, totaling benefits up to Rs 1,05,000. In contrast, MY24 units do not feature cash discounts, offering benefits of up to Rs 5,000.

Maruti Fronx

Maruti's January offers extend to the Fronx, but with MY23 units only. These units will come with a cash discount of up to Rs 15,000, while MY24 units do not offer any benefits. The Maruti Fronx is priced between Rs 7.46 lakh and Rs 13.13 lakh.

Maruti Grand Vitara

Lastly, the Maruti Grand Vitara provides benefits for MY23 units, including cash discounts up to Rs 15,000, exchange bonuses of Rs 20,000, and optional scrappage benefits of Rs 25,000, resulting in total benefits up to Rs 35,000. MY24 units, however, do not feature cash discounts, offering benefits up to Rs 20,000. The Grand Vitara is priced between Rs 10.70 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh.

It can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 4.7 seconds. The electric motor is IP66 resistant, providing additional protection against dust and water.

Advanced Features

The 3.7 kWh version of the Rizta comes with several advanced features. One of the highlights is the Magic Twist feature, which allows the rider to increase brake regeneration by twisting the throttle in the opposite direction. The Rizta S base model is equipped with the DeepView LCD instrument console from the 450S, which includes turn-by-turn navigation. Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its latest offering in the hatchback segment, the Ignis Radiance Edition, with prices starting at Rs 5.49 lakh. The Ignis Radiance edition comes as part of the company's strategy to revitalize sales in the mass market segment, which has experienced a slowdown recently.

The Ignis Radiance Edition brings cosmetic enhancements to the popular hatchback, with variations based on the trim level:

• Entry-level Sigma trim: Priced Rs 35,000 lower than the standard model, it includes wheel covers for 15-inch steel wheels, door visors, and chrome accents.

In FY 2023-24, sales of auto components to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in India surged by 8.9%, reaching Rs. 5.18 lakh crore (USD 62.4 billion). This growth was driven by the increased production of vehicles, higher consumption of value-added components, and a market shift towards larger and more powerful vehicles.

Export Performance

Exports of auto components grew by 5.5%, totaling Rs. 21.2 billion (USD) in 2023-24, compared to USD 20.1 billion in the previous year. Key markets included North America, which accounted for 32% of exports, showing a growth of 4.5%. Europe and Asia followed, with Europe growing by 12% and Asia remaining flat. The primary export items were drive transmission & steering, engine components, body & chassis, and suspension & braking systems.

Import Trends

Imports of auto components also saw an increase, rising by 3.0% to USD 20.9 billion from USD 20.3 billion in the previous year. Asia was the largest supplier, accounting for 66% of imports, followed by Europe and North America at 26% and 8%, respectively. Key import items included engine components, body & chassis, suspension & braking systems, and drive transmission & steering.

Aftermarket Growth

The aftermarket sector experienced a significant boost due to the increased movement of vehicles and higher demand for used vehicles. The turnover in this segment reached Rs. 93,886 crore (USD 11.3 billion) in FY 2023-24, up from Rs. 85,333 crore (USD 10.6 billion) in the previous year. This growth was attributed to enhanced e-commerce penetration and the sector's gradual evolution into a more organized structure.

Industry Outlook

Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA, highlighted the positive impact of stable vehicle production and the robust aftermarket on the industry's growth. Shraddha Suri Marwah, President of ACMA and CMD of Subros, emphasized the contribution of higher value addition from component makers and the growth in auto component exports despite global challenges. The industry remains optimistic for FY 2025, expecting continued growth supported by strong macro-economic indicators, government policies, and an anticipated over 7% growth in Indian GDP.
